David Lynch Back on Board For ‘Twin Peaks’ Season 3
Showtime’s attempt to revive the cult series Twin Peaks has been a messy one. The last we heard series creator David Lynch had pulled out, and (as the cast is very loyal) things looked bleak.
Well, on Friday that all changed, when David Lynch tweeted that he was, in fact, back in on the project:
Dear Twitter Friends, the rumors are not what they seem ….. It is !!!
Happening again. #TwinPeaks returns on @SHO_Network

Showtime’s twitter confirmed it as well, clarifying that Lynch will direct every episode of the season for this limited series:
#TwinPeaks pre-production starts now!! Every episode will be directed by @David_Lynch! #Showtime #damngoodcoffee

Now that Lynch is back on the show, series star Kyle MacLachlan (who had remained fairly silent on the matter) confirmed he would be returning as well.
Welcome back again!! #TwinPeaks Special Agent Dale Cooper! on #Showtime #damnfinecoffee

Twin Peaks‘s third season will be nine episodes long, and its premiere date has yet to be announced.
