The Entire Production of ‘Fantastic Four’ Was a Massive Clusterf**k

So by now everyone knows that Fantastic Four is pretty terrible — and when I say terrible, I mean like Green Lantern terrible. What a lot of people were unaware of though is how the entire production process that created the film was pretty bad too.

THR has been digging through stories about the absolute clusterf**k that happened behind the scenes. You should really read the article, but it comes down to Fox having no idea what they wanted, and director Josh Trank being an unmitigated mess.

Fox, for their part, didn’t know what they wanted out of the franchise and threw Trank in the deep end — and when they didn’t like what they got, they pulled him off. Trank on the other hand was notoriously impossible to deal with on set, being weirdly controlling while directing (dictating even when actors should blink or breathe during scenes).

Oh, and Trank caused $100,000 worth of damage to the house he rented during the shoot. That’s a thing that happened.

Seriously, go read the piece and stare in wonder that the film didn’t turn out even more terrible than it did. Like Nick Fury: Agent of SHIELD terrible.
