‘Star Trek: Discovery’ Delayed Again, Won’t Make May Premiere

Star Trek: Discovery, the long awaited small screen return of the franchise, keeps getting delayed more and more. It was originally supposed to premiere this month, but that was later pushed back to May to give the show more time to develop. Now it seems like we’re going to have to wait even longer though, as it’s now being reported that the show is getting pushed back even more.

Not only will it not make the May release, but we don’t know when it’s coming out at all.

Now the good news is that we know the series is happening — it goes into production next week actually — but the continued slipping of the premiere date has to be frustrating to most fans. It’s also ironic that the reasons most cited for series creator Bryan Fuller stepping down was that he wanted this delay as well, but the network wouldn’t give it to him.

It seems Fuller leaving was all for nought then.

Star Trek: Discovery is still probably one of the most anticipated geek series of 2017, and we’ll be following this closely. It has a pretty great looking cast, and honestly we all just really want to know when it’s going to come out at this point, so we can briefly sign up for CBS All Access and then cancel the service once the season is over.
