‘Young Justice’ Season 3 and ‘Titans’ Will Premiere On New DC Streaming Service
When it was announced that Young Justice season 3 was finally going to happen, many hoped that the series would land on Netflix. That’s where the first two seasons found an even larger audience and convinced DC and Warner Bros to revive the beloved series, and frankly almost every fan was already subscribed to the streaming service.
Well, the bad news is that this definitely won’t be the case.
DC and Warner Bros have opted to do the one thing that no one actually wanted, and that’s launch their own service to host the show. The animated Young Justice will be joined by the live action Titans series, which TNT passed on a while back. This is, probably, the dumbest idea I’ve ever heard.
This last season the Warner Bros co-owned network The CW pulled its shows, including its DC properties, from Hulu. The current seasons now release on a custom CW app on various devices, which is confusingly separate from their CW Seed online content. The only reason fans haven’t revolted at this shift is because the services provided are free, and while we don’t know how much this new service will cost, my money says it will have some sort of monthly cost.
The only thing this decision guarantees is that fewer people will watch these shows, and that’s just remarkably short sighted.
