There’s a Petition For Theatrical Screenings of the ‘Batman v Superman’ R Rated Cut

So Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has been pretty polarizing. There are a lot of people who love it, and quite a few who kind of hate the thing. My opinion was that it was just kind of “meh.” There were good bits, there were bad bits, and (frankly) there were just too many bits. A lot of the first act was just wholly unnecessary frankly. In fact, I was pretty certain the one negative thing both critics and fans agreed on was that the movie was just too long.

Well, I was wrong.

You see, some jackass calling himself “Bruce Wayne” has started a Change.org Petition to try and get Warner Bros to release the R rated cut of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Super Long Boring Secret Identity Crisis on Infinite Justice. That cut of the movie is an estimated three hours in length, which is a half hour longer than the over-bloated film we got in the first place.

Look kids, if you liked the movie, that’s fine. There are some good bits – Ben Affleck is a really solid Batman, and every moment that Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman is on screen is cinema gold. Amy Adams continues to be a solid Lois Lane, and Henry Cavill does his best with the material he’s given. If you want to see a longer version of the movie, that’s cool too… but understand you are in the minority.

Don’t demand that theater owners and the studio put out something that most of the country doesn’t want to see (mostly because they just watched three quarters of it). Enjoy your eventual Bluray copy and leave the rest of us in piece.
